Jason Johnson allowed Phil Vantrepotte to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and Corey Patterson hit a homerun and had 4 RBI at the ballpark as the
SSB SSB Tar Heels, running on all cylinders, ripped the Santa Fe Trailer
Bitches by a large 14 to 1 margin.
Patterson led the offense for SSB. He rifled a three-run blast (his 12th of
the season) in the 5th inning, doubled in the 7th inning and doubled knocking
in a run in the 8th inning. SSB bats were hot in the 5th inning which saw
them plate 4 runs on 5 hits. The SSB offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of
the 9 innings.
The winning pitcher was Johnson(5-12) who allowed 1 run for the game. Steve
Trachsel(7-3) ended up with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits and
